What is occupational therapy?

Support for the things
that make life yours.

Occupational therapy looks at the everyday activities that give life purpose, structure, and connection.

Everyday activities. Personal meaning.

In occupational therapy, “occupation” means more than a job. It refers to the things people do in everyday life — from getting dressed and preparing a meal to playing, learning, and spending time with others.

What matters is personal. An activity that feels simple to one person may be a meaningful goal for someone else.

Looking at the whole picture.

OT considers the person, the activity, and the environment together. A conversation may explore what someone wants to do, what makes it difficult, and what support or changes could be useful.

A starting point for a conversation.

The right support depends on individual needs and the services a practice offers. Eden's specific assessment and therapy pathways will be described here once confirmed.
